Experience gliding on a memorable taster flight. We launch you in a dual control glider to soar over the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, and to try the controls for yourself, accompanied by a fully qualified instructor in a friendly and safe club environment.
Gliding offers an environmentally friendly and fun way to fly in safe, high-performance aircraft. Once launched, by aerotow or winch, glider pilots use their skills to exploit thermal up-currents which enable them to climb repeatedly and to cover great distances. Flights of many hours covering many miles are quite normal in summer, usually returning back to the home airfield.
Our club is an all-volunteer operation run under the auspices of the British Gliding Association. We fly every weekend and bank holiday, weather permitting, and have an active membership of over 100, aged from 14 to 80+. We have a range of modern club gliders and more than 30 privately owned. PRICES:
Aerotow launch to 2000 ft giving a flight of up to 30 mins duration, and 30 days club membership enabling you to fly as a member at club rates, £70.Aerotow launch to 4000 ft giving a flight of up to 60 mins duration, and 30 days membership enabling you to fly at club rates during that period, £110.
1 day course inc. 30 days trial club membership. A glider pilot logbook and a BGA Laws & Rules booklet will also be included. Courses will have maximum of 3 students £150
Evening group flying for groups of 10 or more, by prior arrangement on Wednesday or Friday evenings in the summer. Launching is by winch and each flight normally lasts about 10 mins depending on the weather conditions. £20 per person. Full day group flying sessions customised to your requirements. By prior arrangement on selected weekdays between April and October and at prices dependent on the number of people and the type of launching and flying to be done.
